看了這段影片，才了解「空巢」這兩個字原來那麼沉重。
You can't get any closer to nature than this. I can't imagine anyone of any age not enjoying this! The video clip in the attached link is amazing.  An American robin lays her four eggs in a hanging basket and the home owners set up a camera to film the results.

影片從巢內4顆蛋開始，親鳥孵蛋不分日夜、寒暑、晴雨，不停來回穿梭餵食雛鳥。 
小雛鳥日漸長大羽翼豐滿了，母鳥卻依然持續忙碌，最後母鳥銜著食物回巢要餵食幼鳥時，發現幼鳥都已離巢，雀去巢空。 
母鳥當場驚愕得嘴裡的食物也掉落下來，面對空巢不斷地搖頭。最後30秒讓人看了不勝唏噓、感人肺腑、母愛無限，還有，只留下一堆鳥屎…….

梁上有双燕，翩翩雄与雌；衔泥两椽间，一巢生四儿。
四儿日夜长，索食声孜孜，青虫不易捕，黄口无饱期。
嘴爪虽欲敝，心力不知疲。须臾十来往，犹恐巢中饥。
辛勤三十日，母瘦雏渐肥。喃喃教言语，一一刷毛衣。
一旦羽翼成，引上庭树枝；举翅不回顾，随风四散飞。
雌雄空中鸣，声尽呼不归，却入空巢里，啁啾终夜悲。
燕燕尔勿悲，尔当反自思；思尔为雏日，高飞背母时。
当时父母念，今日尔应知。
